April 3rd-4th: Tell City Regional Arts auditions for “Shrek the Musical,” 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday, and 9:00 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Auditions held next to TCRA at Coll Neu Photography Studio, 1020 11th Street.

Thursday, April 9th: Perry County Beekeeping meeting at Perry Central Community School CTE building in Leopold, Indiana, 6:00 p.m. Please use the front door. Free and open to the public. Bring a snack to share. Topics include: pests that affect hives, spring hive build up, catching and managing swarms, splitting a hive and more.

Sunday, April 12th: Registration deadline for Hancock County Youth Softball Summer League. If you have questions, please contact Sara Brown at 270-922-1081 or Taylor Morris at 270-922-6308. The tentative season start date is June 1st. $50 per player.

Saturday, May 16th: Run for the Brave 5K, supporting the Hawesville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, at Hancock County Middle School. Registration at 7:00 a.m. Race begins at 8:00 a.m.

Saturday, May 16th: First Responders Day at Hancock County Middle School, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Free event for the community to connect with first responders from the four local volunteer fire departments, police and sheriff departments, EMS and search and rescue. Ask questions, learn about public safety and see emergency vehicles up close. Fun activities for all ages, safety demos and information booths, food trucks and refreshments.

Saturday, May 30th: 5K Color Run during the Lewisport Heritage Festival.
