It’s the biggest dinner of the year in Hancock County — a night when the community gathers to celebrate local agriculture, honor farmers and support the next generation.
The annual Hancock County Chamber of Commerce Farm City Dinner will be held Monday, March 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hawesville Baptist Life Center.
Tickets are $5 each and are available at First Financial Bank (Hawesville and Lewisport), Independence Bank (both locations), Kraftcor Federal Credit Union, Labor Management Federal Credit Union and Hancock County Farm Supply.
Guests will enjoy a hearty meal featuring ribeye steak, roasted hog or chicken, served with baked potato, baked beans, coleslaw, rolls, assorted desserts, tea and lemonade.
Special guest Jeff Nalley — farm director for the Cromwell Ag Radio Network in Owensboro and contributing editor for Agri-Pulse Communications — will serve as the keynote speaker. A veteran with more than four decades of experience covering agriculture and markets across Kentucky and the Midwest, Nalley was inducted into the Kentucky Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2025.
Each year, the event includes remarks from Hancock County Agricultural and Natural Resources Extension Agent Evan Tate.
In addition, the Hancock County High School Future Farmers of America chapter, led by longtime agriculture teacher and FFA advisor Josh Smith, helps serve tea and lemonade and assists in the kitchen — continuing a proud tradition of service and community involvement.
During the evening, two $500 scholarships will be awarded to local students. Guests can also enter to win door prizes, including a quarter of beef plus processing.
It’s not too late to become a sponsor — each sponsorship includes two dinner tickets.
