Hancock County graduate among Kentucky’s 2025 Road Master honorees

Hancock County High School graduate Ashley Rudd was among those recognized last week for completing the Kentucky Transportation Center’s Road Master Training Program.
Rudd, who works with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2, was honored Dec. 18 during a ceremony in Bowling Green. She joins more than 3,800 Road Masters and 4,600 Roads Scholars who have completed the statewide professional training effort for road and public works employees.
The Road Master designation is awarded through the Kentucky Transportation Center’s Technology Transfer Program, part of the University of Kentucky’s Pigman College of Engineering. The program provides advanced training for individuals from local and state transportation agencies as well as private companies.
Participants complete seven full-day courses as part of a total 95 training hours that include both the Roads Scholar and Road Master programs. The training covers topics such as roadway safety, maintenance, and management practices designed to improve Kentucky’s transportation infrastructure.
Rudd is among a growing number of local transportation workers pursuing advanced training to support the county’s roads and bridges.
The 2025 class included 195 new Roads Scholars and 201 Road Masters recognized at ceremonies held across the Commonwealth. For more information about the Roads Scholar and Road Master programs, visit kyt2.uky.edu or contact program manager Martha Horseman at [email protected] or 859-257-4531.
