Wes Meserve named Assistant Principal at HCHS

New HCHS Assistant Principal Wes Meserve.
Wes Meserve will be the new Hancock County High School Assistant Principal beginning in fall for the ‘24/’25 School Year. Former HCHS Asst. Principal Dr. Jacob Bryant will be the new North Hancock Elementary School Principal, as Kelly Moore has retired.
“I just want to thank Principal Ginger Estes, Mr. Asberry and the Board for giving me this opportunity,” Wes said. “I’ve taught in this district for 15 years and lived here pretty much my entire life. This is where I want to be. This is the community I care about and I care about these kids. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to be able to step up into that leadership role.”
Wes is a 2002 HCHS Honors Graduate. He earned his Bachelors in Sociology at Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2006, and a Masters in Learning & Behavior Disorders in 2009 at Western Kentucky University. He is currently enrolled at Murray State University to complete his Rank 1 certification.
While attending KWC, he participated as an intern at the Green River Area Development District (GRADD), and after graduating was hired as a Community Development Planner. He was then promoted to Public Administration Specialist.
After 2 years at GRADD, Wes enrolled in WKU’s Masters program for learning and behavior disorders and began working at HCHS in the Special Education Department. In 2010, he was hired as a Special Ed Teacher at HCHS and has worked with the English Department as a Co-Teacher for Grades 9-12 English courses. He was hired as the Head Cross Country Coach in 2009, and Head Track & Field Coach in 2013.
Wes and his wife, Hadley, live in Hancock County. They are blessed with 3 children: Emmitt, Ella and Elias.
