Graduation for the Class of 2022 at Hancock County High School is set for May 26 at 6 p.m., at the high school. A total of 125 seniors are scheduled the graduate this year.
Seniors will be allotted 10 tickets each for distribution to family and friends to help assure the crowd stays within the seating capacity for the gymnasium.
High school officials said program particulars are still being worked out for the ceremony.
Several events and ceremonies related to the end of the public school career for seniors will be held over the coming week, including:
- A Scholarship Awards Ceremony was conducted Wednesday at the Hancock County Development Complex.
- Senior Awards Night will be Friday, May 20, at 5:30 p.m., at the high school.
- The Baccalaureate Service will be held Sunday, May 22, at 1 p.m., at Hawesville Baptist Church. The service is hosted by the Senior Class officers.
- A Senior Parade will begin lineup at the high school at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at the high school. The route will be through Windward Heights Subdivision, downtown Hawesville, and downtown Lewisport.
The Clarion will publish a special Hancock County High School Graduation Section on May 26. The keepsake publication will be inserted into each copy of the regular edition of the paper.
The section is the largest in several years at 28 pages and will include senior photos of graduating students, as well as personalized greeting to seniors and congratulatory greeting from regional businesses, governments and organizations.
