Paving work along U.S. 60 west underway

A contractor began paving activities this week in Hancock County from the Daviess/Hancock County line and Yellow Creek Branch in Lewisport.

The section of U.S. 60 to receive improvements begins at the county line, extending East to mile point 2.287 eastbound and the west end of Yellow Creek Bridge westbound, a distance of 2.5 miles.

Motorists should anticipate lane restrictions along the route in Hancock County while paving activities are underway. Signs have been posted alerting the public of paving work.

Base failures, milling, wedging, and paving will be addressed with this work. The contractor will rock shoulders at a later date.

Yager Materials Corp. & Subsidiary was awarded the low bid of $919, 965.

Motorists should anticipate reduced speeds, lane restrictions, and flaggers on site for traffic control.
