Fire on Paul Baker Road destroys structures

Firefighters from several fire agencies responded to a structure fire on Paul Baker Road around 10:30 a.m., Sunday. According to Emergency Management Director Kyle Veach, Dukes Volunteer Fire Department units arrived on scene to find a shop, mobile home and vehicle fully involved, with the fire spreading to an adjacent mobile home and wooded area. Pellville and Fordsville Fire Department units arrived on scene a short time later. Hawesville Fire Department was requested for air supply, and the Hancock County Rescue Squad arrived to provide firefighter rehab services. The departments were on scene for more than two hours. A total of seven trucks and 30 firefighters responded to the incident. Hancock County EMS also responded. No one was injured in the fire.
