Christmas parades to be held Dec. 4

Christmas parades in Hawesville and Lewisport will be Dec. 4.
The Christmas season will soon be upon us, and plans for celebrations in Hawesville and Lewisport continue to be finalized.
Both the Hawesville and Lewisport Christmas parades will be Dec. 4. The Hawesville parade will be at 1 p.m., and the Lewisport parade will be at 4 p.m.
Lineup for the Hawesville parade will begin at noon at Harrison Street, beginning at the four-way stop. Categories for floats include school, industrial, and commercial.
The route will turn right from Harrison Street onto Main Street to Main Cross, where it will turn left. The parade will end at the Hawesville Post Office. For additional information, contact Hawesville City Hall at 270-927-8707.
Lineup for the Lewisport parade – themed “A Fairytale Christmas” – will begin at 3 p.m., at Pell Street and Community Center Drive, near the Lions Club Community Center.
It will proceed west along Pell Street to Beech Street, where it will turn right and proceed to Market Street. The parade will turn right and follow Market Street to the intersection with Fourth Street.

Christmas In the Park
“Christmas In the Park” will be Dec. 8, from 6 until 8 p.m., in Lewisport. The city has purchased a 12-foot Norway Spruce to be planted in the park for use as a Christmas tree.
