King establishes Hawesville law practice

Attorney Elizabeth King has opened a practice in Hawesville, with offices located at 240 Main Street. King will offer general law services and has vast experience in criminal and family law. She can be contacted at 270-695-9202.

While Attorney Elizabeth King has been meeting with clients at her 240 Main Street offices on a limited basis, she expects to be fully open within a couple of weeks.

“I have had several cases throughout the years in Hawesville, and have always enjoyed working in the community,” she said. “There are very friendly professional in the justice system, and we have strong connections in the county.”

King is married to Todd King, and is the daughter-in-law of Hawesville Mayor Charlie King.
King received her undergraduate degree in middle grades education at Western Kentucky University, and received her juris doctor at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.

While her practice in Hawesville is considered general law services, King said she will primarily handle family law and criminal law, with some probate work.
She has previously been based in Daviess County, and worked as a public defender in Owensboro for seven years. Upon entering private practice she broadened into family law.

“I approach everyone I meet like I would treat a friend or family member,” King said. “When you are seeking an attorney, you need someone who sees you as more than a case. I have gone through a divorce, so I understand those cases from the perspective of the client.”

King said many people she meets in her practice have never been inside a justice center until they find themselves involved in a family law case.
“I listen to my clients, and attempt to remember and understand being in court can be a stressful thing,” she said. “I understand it can be intimidating to be on a witness stand, answering questions about personal experiences. My experiences as a parent have also helped me be more understanding in cases involving children.”

King offers consultations to potential clients at no charge.
Her office can be reached by calling 270-695-9202.

I have tried unsuccessfully to reach Atty King, as I want her services to write a simple will. There is no ability to leave a message and no one ever answers. Is this person still doing business as an attorney in Hawesville?

I’ll m desperate in need of an attorney in hawesville. I was unlawfully arrested and put into detention after feeling dizzy and faint. I found a campsite at vastwood park where I was with my service dog. I needed a water and couldn’t make it to my car. I saw a man far away fishing about to catch a fish. He had a water in his cooler and I drank some about to walk to my car if I could to replace the water with a few of my own when the fisherman called the police officer and they forced me into the back seat when I was going peaceful. He bruised my left shoulder that needs surgery and twisted my back. I did have to defend myself after he got rough for no reason. I couldn’t fit into his back seat as the front seat was all the way back and there was no leg room. They took my service dog away from me and out me into detention in Breckenridge county with no seizure or any of my meds. Im disabled and 62. After 24 hours of no meds no service dog and no food or eater freezing in jail I had a grand mall seizure, I don’t remember much but I was taken from jail because seizure to Breckenridge hospital where they had to transfer me to Owensboro hospital where I awoke on my birthday 9/6 . Now it’s Monday after being in 3 hospitals 3 ambulance rides and an immediate care center. My court date was last week I had both ears infected throat and a UTI hospital said my potassium was dangerous low and sodium very low. What caused confusion at the park and dizzy and sickness. But the atty Mr Madden in hawesville doesn’t care and out an bench warrant out for me. Because I went to Breckenridge court house where they said I had no case was dismissed. Only to find out when I got home and needed to recover that Madden had a bench warrant out for me and I’d be in jail until 10/20. They kept my dogs service vest and my 300 dollar UGG boots. And 3 books as I was reading at the park picnic with my dog. I can’t go to jail. I’ll have another seizure. Btw the neurologist at Owens hospital said I don’t show anything that caused the seizure and I’m free to drive with no issues after being released however, my middle back has stabbing pain so bad I went to tell city emergency They did extensive exrays and my pain doctor commonwealth pain and spine in Owens said I need an emergency MRI and that she believes this to be a new injury caused a week ago possibly by the police officer who twisted my back. I have MRI at hospital tomorrow and I’m to stay a rest until then. My kidneys aren’t functioning right so they are concerned about 3 hernia disk. The exrays show 3 compression injury. Can you help me get the bench warrant lifted. I need to go home to get proper sleep and rest to recover of I’m not admitted tomorrow
