Brown sees generosity

Through the generosity of readers of the Hancock Clarion, Erica Brown – the paralyzed car crash victim profiled last week – is beginning to receive the tools she will need to have a more comfortable life.

An anonymous donor has facilitated the purchase of an electric wheelchair for Erica, while another donor is funding the purchase of a lift chair.

While there is not yet a centralized fundraising effort in place, Erica’s address for direct donations is: Erica Brown, 102 E. Houston Street, Apt. 309, Cloverport, Ky., 40111.

Remaining needs include a lift van for safe and comfortable transportation to medical appointments and household errands, and affordable home health aid or an adult sitter, which will free Matthew up to seek full-time employment.

The Clarion spoke with Erica Tuesday afternoon and she extended her tremendous gratitude to those who have been touched by her story.  She remains upbeat and positive about her future.
