SUV hit from rear
An accident on U.S. 60 in Lewisport caused some damage to the vehicles, but the occupants escaped injury. The accident happened on February 16 at roughly 5:15 a.m. Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Howard filed the accident report.
Jarrett T. Reynolds, of Sacramento, KY. told Howard as he drove east on U.S. 60 in Lewisport’s city limits in his 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, another vehicle ran into the back of his SUV. James E. McCarty, of Owensboro, Ky. told Howard that as he drove his 1992 Chevrolet small pickup east on U.S. 60, he slid into the rear of Reynold’s SUV.
Reynold’s SUV sustained minor damage. McCarthy’s truck sustained very minor damage. Neither vehicle required a tow.

Accident at foot of bridge
At two vehicle accident at the foot of the Bob Cummins Lincoln Trail Bridge damaged two vehicles, but the occupants escaped injury. The accident happened on February 15 at 6:45 p.m. Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Hendrick filed the accident report.
Matthew Arnold, of Tell City, Ind. told Hendrick that as he approached the curve at the foot of the bridge in his 2005 Chevrolet CK 2500 pickup he went to apply his brakes and the truck began to slide. The truck slid into the front end of an approaching 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Melissa K. Bryant of Maple Mount, KY. Hendrick wrote on the report that Arnold was driving too fast for the snowy conditions, which caused the vehicle to slide when he hit the brakes.
Arnold’s truck sustained moderate to severe damage, but did not require a tow. Bryant’s Cruiser sustained very severe damage. A wrecker from Bob’s Garage towed the car from the scene.

Car hits utility pole
An accident in downtown Lewisport damaged a car and a utility pole, but the driver escaped injury. The accident happened on January 31 at roughly 2 p.m. Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Howard filed the accident report.
Amber Travis, of Lewisport, told Howard that as she drove north on 4th street approaching the intersection with Pell Street, her 2008 Ford Taurus apparently hydroplaned, went off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole located at the intersection.
Travis’ car sustained moderate damage. A wrecker from Bob’s Garage removed the vehicle from the scene.
