Repair Affair

Last Thursday Hancock County Repair Affair in conjunction with Operation Inasmuch from Central Baptist Church, constructed a wheelchair ramp for Dot and Juanita Pooser at 105 Mockingbird Lane in Lewisport. According to Repair Affair director Allen Kennedy, approximately 13 people worked on the ramp over a two-day period.
“We started construction on Thursday, the 15th but was rained out that day,” Kennedy said. “We finished it on Friday the 16th.
Earlier this year Kennedy restarted Hancock County Repair Affair due to the need in the county. The organization operates under the umbrella of United Way of the Ohio Valley. The group specializes in building wheelchair ramps and decks for persons in need.
“We have several projects planned for the near future and would appreciate any donations to the Hancock County Repair Affair and/or Central Baptist Church’s Operation Inasmuch,” Kennedy said.
“This is the second (ramp) we have constructed in the last two weeks and we will be preparing for a third ramp next week, and reviewing some other repair needs for a disabled individual’s deck flooring.”
