Two Hancock County students have been awarded 2026 Donate Life Kentucky Trust scholarships through the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks.
Bailey Poole and Tristan French were among 20 students statewide who were selected for the $1,000 scholarships, which recognize leadership in promoting organ, eye and tissue donation awareness.
The scholarships are awarded each year to students who demonstrate a commitment to public education and outreach supporting donation and transplantation. Recipients were selected based on efforts such as school campaigns, public speaking, classroom presentations and community engagement.
“The students of today are tomorrow’s advocates, and it’s inspiring to see so many young Kentuckians use their voices for good,” said Hancock County Circuit Clerk Michael Boling. “This scholarship is one way we continue the lifesaving mission education we began more than 30 years ago.”
The Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks has supported donation education since launching a $1 contribution program at driver’s license offices in 1992. The effort has raised more than $20 million for awareness initiatives, with more than 90% of Kentucky’s registered organ donors signing up through circuit clerk offices.
Donate Life Kentucky Trust, a nonprofit founded by the clerks, provides education and resources related to organ, eye and tissue donation across the state.
