Local Band Ole 60 Breaks Friday After 5 Record

The local band Ole 60 played at Owensboro After 5 last Friday and broke the 28 year attendance record at the venue! There were a lot of Hancock Countians cheering them on in the crowd. Two of the members, Ryan Laslie and Jacob Young, are from Hancock County. The other members are from Owensboro, Ohio County, and Tell City.
Ole 60 hit Number One on the Apple Country Music Album Charts with their debut EP “Three Twenty-Four” earlier this year. The 5-piece band are: rhythm guitarist Tristan Roby, bassist Colby Clark, lead vocalist & guitarist Jacob Young, drummer Aden Wood, and lead guitarist Ryan Laslie.

The band started with Jacob and Tristan practicing in a shed in Maceo. The two joined with Ryan Laslie and began playing together at the Galaxy Pizza & BBQ Restaurant, which is owned by Ryan’s brother, Bradley.
Jacob and Ryan were both employees at the Galaxy at different times and hadn’t yet met until Bradley introduced them. They decided on naming the band “Ole 60” because that was the route that Jacob took to Tristan’s house when they first started jamming together.
Three Twenty-Four was released last August, and the band began playing shows in January of this year. They have signed with Grey Area Sound in Nashville, as well as joining with Nashville’s United Talent Agency for booking assistance.
