Hey Buddy Truck Stop – Now Open in Lewisport
Hey Buddy Truck Stop is now open in Lewisport. The new truck stop and convenience store is located where Fred’s Pharmacy was, on US 60 at its intersection with 4th Street.
Fred’s was purchased in 2022 by Poonam “Pinky” Gollen, and she hired Gary Nugent, of GN Excavating, as the general contractor.
Hey Buddy Truck Stop has 7 gas pumps – 4 regular and 3 diesel. They are open from 4:00 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week. Pinky said they plan to offer a Drive-Thru for added convenience soon.
The convenience store offers many of the usual items, as well as made-to-order and grab-and-go foods. Breakfast and lunch will be served, as well as delicious soft serve ice cream and milkshakes.
Store Manager Abhishek Kumar said they are planning to make Door Dash available for online orders & delivery/pick-up. They are also licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.
During the construction process, Mr. Kumar said Russell Jackson, who was subcontracted by GN to do the concrete work, made the suggestion for the truck stop to be named “Hey Buddy”. They loved the idea and decided it was perfect for the name, and want to express appreciation for his help.

If corporate diesel cards were accepted there I would get my fuel there every day. Since there is def at the fuel island.
The Hey Buddy owner said they are working on getting corporate diesel cards. It will happen soon!
Is there anyway you all could put a truck wash for semis so we don’t have to drive to Elizabethtown ky or Evansville Indiana to get our trucks washed. We $168 to get our trucks and trailers washed and that would be a great idea for our community to make more money. And us drivers would really appreciate the wash to be local and give other such as our kids or other kids to work at. Thank you for reading and hope to hear back from you soon.
Hello, the owner said they are trying to purchase an additional piece of land for a car wash, but the land owner has not agreed to sell yet and that it will likely take another 6 months. Thank you for your comment.
