Cash Express 2022; Toy & Coat Drive blessed many families in the community

Cash Express Pawn located on 310 Main Cross Street in Hawesville teamed-up with Hancock County Schools and local businesses for their 17th Annual Toy & Coat Drive from November 1st – November 29th. Store Manager, Marcia Myers, along with Assistant Managers, Toni Carter, Brenda Phelps and Raven Logsdon worked hard to make this year’s drive a success.

North Hancock and South Hancock Elementary Schools participated this year and were promised a pizza party from Cash Express for the grade in each school that raised the most for the drive. NHES’s third grade students and SHES’s second grade students won. Congratulations students for helping to make a special Christmas this year for many families in the community!

Marcia said that Papa John’s helped out with getting all of the pizzas delivered to the schools. North Hancock students enjoyed their celebratory pizza party on Thursday, December 15th for lunchtime. South Hancock enjoyed their pizza party for lunch at school after returning from their field trip to the movies on Friday, December 16th.

“The kids went above and beyond with bringing in clothing, toys and food,” Marcia said. “With everybody – with the schools, the community and the businesses, with the donations and even just letting us place donation jars and boxes at their stores, it was a blessing in disguise for so many families in the community. We could not have been able to do it without the help of everybody in the community. It helped out so much. There are so many families in the community that actually get to have a Christmas now because of what everybody did working together.”
