Hancock Accidents

Accident by Central Baptist Church

Two vehicles sustained damage in an accident at the intersection of state Route 3543 and U.S. 60, by Central Baptist Church. Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Hendrick filed the accident report. The wreck happened on July 14 at approximately 7:15 p.m.

Garrett H. Mattingly of Owensboro moved forward at the stop sign on state Route 3543 in his 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, and then stopped in traffic. Joseph P. McCubbins of Fordsville pulled his 2012 GMC Sierra pickup forward when Mattingly started moving forward, but did not notice Mattingly stop his Cobalt, and rammed into the rear of the car.

The Cobalt sustained moderate damage. The Sierra sustained very minor damage. Neither vehicle required a tow.
