The HCHS track & field teams competed in the Class A, Region 2 meet at Green County Monday. The girls placed 5th, while the boys were 12th.
Isabella “Izzy” Ross won the girls 1600 meters by seven seconds over her nearest competitor. Ross’ time was 5:47. Juliana Nevitt was 10th in 7:01.
Alex Kratzer won the girls triple jump with a total distance of 29–02.
Sebastain Fredell was second in the boys 110 meter hurdles in 17.79 seconds. Nash Johnson of Green County won in 17.38.
Kratzer was second in the girls 300 meter hurdles in 53.18. Carlie Thurmond of Bethlehem won in 50.86.
The HCHS girls 4×400 relay team placed second in 4:46. Runners were Sydney Weatherholt, Erica Lindsey, Alaina Rudd and Izzy Ross. Edmonson County won in 4:37.
Kratzer was second in the long jump with a leap of 13–09, and Halee Duff was seventh at 11–01. Hailee Garmon of Monroe County won at 14–09.
Ross was fourth in the girls 800 meter run in 2:39. Kaylyn Smith of Campbellsville won in 2:32.
The girls 4×800 meter relay team placed third in a time of 12:04. HCHS runners were Lindsey, Della Nevitt, Juliana Nevitt and Weatherholt. Edmonson County won in 11:13.
Leelee Board was fifth in the girls 100 meter hurdles in 23.53 seconds. Emma Renfrow of Green County won in 19.21.
Adam Gregory placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 37–01.25, and James Singleton was 17th in 26–01.25. Jameson Pruitt of Monroe County won at 44–01.5.
Jameson Pruitt of Monroe County ran seventh in the boys 400 meter dash, finishing in a time of 56.14. Tristan Griffin of Fort Knox won in 51.28.
Sydney Weatherholt was seventh in the girls 400 meters in 1:10.47, and Erica Lindsey was 13th in 1:12.54. Shaianne Wiley of Fort Knox won in 1:05.
Austin Kellems was eighth in the 3200 meters in 13:45. Logan Ballard of Bethlehem won in 9:59.
Alex Kratzer was ninth in the girls 100 meter dash in 14.16 seconds. Kennedi Alford of Fort Knox won in 12.96. Hancock’s Alaina Rudd was was 21st in 15.5.
Basham was ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 32–08. Elliot Evans of McLean County won at 39–01.
Hunter Stephens was ninth in the boys 1600 meters in 5:35, and Noah Henson was 10th in 5:45. Ballard won in 4:37.
Alex Basham was ninth in the boys long jump with a leap of 17–07, and Wathen was 16th at 14–11. Pentiss Alford of Fort Knox won at 19–07.
Jones was 11th in the boys 200 dash in 25.7 seconds, and Basham was 13th in 26.05. Blunt won in 22.29.
Henson was 11th in the 800 meters in 2:32. Stephens was 14th in 2.35. Ballard won in 2:03.
Gregory placed 13th in the discus with a throw of 85–02, and Singleton was 15th at 74–10. Levi Dicken of Campbellsville won at 137–02.
Alex Basham was 14th in the boys 100 meters in 12.66. Braydon Wathan was 18th in 13.53. Malik Blunt of Fort Knox won in 10.95.
Emily McCormick was 13th in the discus throw with a distance of 49–02, and Mackenzie Basham was 20th at 35–11. Lauren DeBold of Bethlehem won at 105–05.5.
Allyson McCormick was 14th in the shot put with a throw of 19–08, and Emily McCormick was 15th in 18–07.25. Lynn Tormoehlen of Washington County won at 30–06.5.
Rudd was 18th in the girls 200 meter dash in 32.74, and Halee Duff was 24th in 34.92. Alford won in 27.15. Bethlehem won the girls team title with 93 points. Hancock County was fifth with 56 points. Fourteen teams competed. Green County won the boys team title with 134 points. Hancock was 12th with nine points.
Apollo meet
The HCHS teams both placed second during a tri-meet at Apollo on May 11th.
Izzy Ross won the girls mile in a time of 6:04, and Juliana Nevitt was fourth in 7:16.
Ross also won the 2000 meter steeplechase, an event rarely contested at this level. She ran uncontested in 8:35.
Alex Kratzer was second in the girls triple jump with a mark of 28–08.75. Chloe Sandefur of Apollo won at 31–09.5.
Alex Basham was second in the boys triple jump with a distance of 33–04, and Braydon Wathen was third at 31–05. Ashton Weaver of Apollo won at 38–10.
Sabastain Fredell was second in the boys 110 hurdles in 18:64. Weaver won in 17.7.
Cooper Jones placed third in the boys 400 meters in one minute. Darius Rigdon of Apollo won in 58.93.
Jaxson Morris was third in the shot put with a throw of 36–09, with Luke Pritchard sixth at 34–05.5, James Singleton 10th at 30–01.5, and Connor Szefi 13th at 23–03.
Kratzer was fourth in the girls 100 dash in 14.91 seconds. Analea Sanders of Apollo won in 13.81. Alaina Rudd was 11th in 16.73, and Halee Duff 13th in 16.9.
Sydney Weatherholt was fifth in the 400 meters in 1:11, and Erica Lindsey was seventh in 1:14. Havanah John of Apollo won in 1:05.
Kratzer was fifth in the long jump with a leap of 13–03.25. Juliana Nevitt was seventh at 11–04, and Duff eighth at 11–02.25. Sandefur won at 15–10.75.
Jones was fifth in the boys 200 dash in 26.85 seconds, and Alex Basham was sixth in 27.48. Wathen was 10th in 30.14, and Hayden Shearn 11th in 30.75.
Hunter Stephens was fifth in the 800 meters in 2:37, and Noah Henson was sixth in 2:38. Apollo’s Nicholas Szemethy won in 2:10.
Leelee Board was second in the girls 100 meter hurdles in 25.89. Mary Hupp (unattached) won in 18.9 seconds.
Austin Kellems was third in the boys 2000 meter steeplechase in 9:51. Thomas Ashby of Apollo won in 6:46.
Henson was fifth in the boys mile in 6:13, and Kellems was sixth in 6:16. Ashby won in 4:44.
Wathen was sixth in the boys long jump at 15–00.5, and Shearn was seventh at 11–04. Sandefur won at 19–05.5.
Pritchard was seventh in the discus with a throw of 90–09, with Morris ninth at 86–05, Singleton 10th at 76 feet, and Szefi 12th at 57–10. Parker Bates of Apollo won at 117 feet.
Basham was seventh in the boys 100 dash in 13.16, with Wathen 11th in 14.39 and Shearn 12th in 14.73. King Combest of Apollo won in 11.89.
Emily McCormick was sixth in the discus at 53–06, with Mackenzie Basham seventh at 36 feet, and Allyson McCormick eighth at 31–02. Mary Ann Lyons of Apollo won at 109–04.
The girls 4×400 relay team lost to Apollo. The HCHS team of Kratzer, Rudd, Lindsey and Weatherholt finished in 5:16. Apollo won in 5:01.
The boys 4×400 relay team placed third in 4:39. Fredell, Shearn, Jones and Stephens ran for HCHS. Apollo won in 4:02.
