Travis Robbins, scored big while fishing off the coast of Key Largo Florida

Travis Robbins, a 2006 graduate of Hancock Co High and the grandson of Marshall and Shirley Veach of Pellville, recently scored big while fishing off the coast of Key Largo Florida.
During a weekend business trip to the Ocean Reef Club he and 3 others set out on a 35 foot Boston Whaler named Spin Cycle, owned by Tom Austin of Louisville. Captain Tom settled the boat in a spot half way between Key Largo and the Bahamas.
The day started out with excitement, fishing in 1,500 feet of water the group snagged a similar size swordfish on their initial cast, but lost it at the boat due to a foul hook. A little deflated the group fished another two hours when the trophy swordfish pictured took the bait!
After a two hour fight that covered 6 miles of open ocean the group successfully landed the 320 lbs, 11 1/2 foot Swordfish. Travis called it “A bucket list experience”. The group cooked some of the fish and shared the rest of the of meat with the Ocean Reef Locals.
