Michelle Antle named 2020 Kentucky School Psychologist of the Year

Mrs. Michelle Antle, the granddaughter of Mrs. Jerry Lawhorn and the late Rev. Alton Lawhorn of Lewisport, KY, has been named the 2020 Kentucky School Psychologist of the Year.  Mrs. Antle was nominated for this prestigious award by her colleagues and fellow school psychologists.  Mr. Patrick Ballard, President of the Kentucky Association for Psychology in the Schools (KAPS), presented Mrs. Antle with this distinguished honor at the KAPS virtual awards ceremony on November 9thm citing her hard work and dedication to the field of psychology, as well as her passion for her students, their families, school personnel and numerous community organizations.

Mrs. Antle was also awarded the Green River Regional School Psychologist Award for going above and beyond for the students and families of south central Kentucky. Mrs. Antle has worked as a School Psychologist for the past 17 years. She is currently employed by the Kentucky Autism Training Center and services the Green River and Western Kentucky Educational Cooperative regions.

In addition to her work at the KATC, Mrs. Antle serves as a member of the Kentucky Center for School Safety Board (as appointed by the Governor), serves as a founding board member of the HIVE in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is an active board member of the Western Kentucky University Family Resource Program, and serves as the KidSight Chairperson for the Franklin Lions Club.

Mrs. Antle stated that she is humbled to receive this honor and is committed to continuing to make a difference in the lives of others. She will now go on to represent the state of Kentucky for the National School Psychologist of the Year award.  Mrs. Antle is the grand-daughter of Mrs. Jerry Lawhorn and the late Rev. Alton Lawhorn of Lewisport.
