Genealogy – Hancock County Archives

If you are looking to piece together your family tree, we have resources for you!  At the Hancock County Archives, Hawesville Branch location, we have plenty of material for you to browse.

Some items that would help you in your search include: yearbooks, cemetery records, vital statistics, census records, and more!

Our microfilm collection includes previous Clarion news, mortgage books, docket books, and county clerk records. If you are unsure of how to work our microfilm readers, many of our records have been digitized!

Please give us a call at 270-927-6760 if you are interested in utilizing this service.  Another genealogy service we provide is access to Ancestry.com. Ancestry.com can be a great tool when researching census records, military records and birth/death records.  Typically, Ancestry.com is a service that you have to pay for, but at Hancock County Public Library, we have an account already set up for use at either library location.
