Students ask board for nickel tax

By Dave Taylor

The group of Hancock County Middle School eighth graders who have been pushing to convince the public to support a nickel tax for a new school made their case to the school board during Thursday night’s regularly scheduled meeting.

The students from Josh Roberts’ civics class were broken into several groups that were tasked with things like testing the air quality in the school, circulating petitions, reaching the news media, posting on social media, and explaining the problems with the current school and the ins and outs of the tax and how it would work.
