Hilldale pastor’s Mexican heritage, hardships have changed views on ministry, immigrants

Hilldale United Methodist Church’s new pastor has lived a life that helps her relate to those she’s seeking to reach, but it also gives her a unique perspective on the immigration debate currently raging in the country.

Claudia Nava-Galloway came to Hilldale six months ago, the most recent stop on a wild journey from her home country of Mexico, where she was a wealthy businesswoman and a survivor of domestic violence that eventually led to asylum in United States and a new life in ministry.
