Mark your calendars for a family-friendly fundraiser Saturday, July 11, at Heartland Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lewisport. The Cruise-In and Fireworks event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
All vehicles are welcome to this year’s cruise-in, which will feature face painting, music, fireworks and food for purchase. Menu items include hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork, along with sides such as potato salad and baked beans, provided by Heartland Villa.
Local artist Christy Head will provide free face painting during the event.
A 50/50 raffle will be held, and 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s T-shirts will be available for purchase.
Organizers say the cruise-in will wrap up with a fireworks display they expect to be especially enjoyable, and they hope to see plenty of classic vehicles on display again this year.
“A lot of the residents had classic cars themselves, so it brings back good memories for them,” Heartland Villa Admissions and Marketing Director David Curry said.
He said Heartland Villa aims to stay closely connected with the community by regularly welcoming local residents to visit with those who live there.
Many residents are car enthusiasts and look forward to the cruise-in each year. In previous years, one resident was invited to sit in a classic car while staff gathered the other residents around it for a group photo.
Curry said all vehicles are welcome, including motorcycles and sports cars, and staff simply want to line them up for display. It’s not a judged car show, he said, so there’s no competition.
Rows of classic, antique and specialty cars on display each year bring a lot of joy to residents. The event offers them a fun day to build connections with the community and gives local families a chance to support a meaningful cause together.
