KY HEARS to offer Free Hearing Tests Dec. 17 in Hawesville

Free diagnostic hearing tests and screenings will be available next week when Heuser Hearing Institute’s KY HEARS program returns to the Hancock County Judicial Center.
The clinic will take place Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 310 Hawesville School Drive in Hawesville. Full diagnostic hearing tests will be offered by appointment, and walk-in visitors can receive quick, self-guided hearing screenings lasting about five minutes.
A licensed audiologist and KY HEARS team members will be on-site to answer questions about hearing health and provide educational materials on hearing protection and hearing loss prevention. Those interested can visit anytime during clinic hours.
Founded by Heuser Hearing Institute, the KY HEARS initiative—which stands for Hearing Healthcare Equal Access Reaching Statewide—is designed to expand hearing care access throughout Kentucky. Since launching in October 2022, the program has served residents in more than 30 counties and recently opened a satellite office in Inez.
Heuser Hearing Institute, established in 1948 as the Louisville Deaf Oral School, is a nonprofit organization providing comprehensive hearing, speech, language and balance disorder services to people of all ages.
