Hancock Lights Christmas, starting Saturday

The first annual Hancock Lights Christmas light tour kicks off this Saturday at 5 p.m. So far, 30 homes in the county signed up to be a part of the tour, which is sponsored by the Hancock County Public Library. The tour includes homes on Fred Hodges Road, River Road, and Hendricks Road east of Lewisport. It also includes Robin Circle, Mockingbird Lane and Bluegrass Drive in Hancock Park, and Lincoln Road, Rachel Court and Emerson lane in the Holland Subdivision area. The tour also encompasses homes on Meadowlane Drive and Riverview Drive, as well as Caroline Street, Pell Street and Market Street in Lewisport. Other areas around Lewisport include a home on state Route 657 and a home on Pleasant View Lane.
Homes in the Hawesville area include Hillcrest Circle and Windsong Drive in Windward Heights Subdivision, Riverview Drive and Hillcrest Lane in Kelly Heights Subdivision, as well as a home west of Hawesville on Big Rivers Road. Another home is on Young Road outside of Hawesville.
No particular “route” exists to see the homes, just pick a road and enjoy! “For a complete list of the homes and a map, visit the library’s Facebook page,” said Hancock County Public Library Director Tina Snyder. She does encourage people to snap a picture of their favorite home and/or their family enjoying the tour and send it to the library’s Facebook page.
The tour starts this Saturday, and lasts until December 27. Homes will be lit from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
