3 HCHS Band Students selected for All-State Band

All State Bound!

Three students from Hancock County High School were selected for All-State Band! These students began preparing their rigorous audition music in August.

They passed their 1st Round audition in November in Madisonville, and completed their 2nd Round audition last Saturday in Elizabethtown.

“We received results from 2nd Round early Monday morning,” Band Director Zachary Buskill said, “and these students were selected for one of the two All-State Bands.

The Symphonic Band (top band) and Concert Band (second band): Briley Owens – 9th Chair Flute, Symphonic Band; Brianna Nolan – 14th Chair Flute, Concert Band; and Landon Black – 8th Chair Alto Sax, Concert Band.

Highest Individual Honor for Hancock County Band

Congratulations to these students for their hard work and for achieving the highest individual honor possible for a high school musician!

They will represent Hancock County at the annual KMEA Conference in February (Louisville, KY).

To put these students’ achievements further into perspective, there have only been three other students in the history of our band program that have been selected for All-State Band. Congrats to Briley, Brianna, and Landon!”
