Felix Paul “Doodle Bug” Craig

 

Felix Paul “Doodle Bug” Craig, 97, of Lewisport passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at Wellington Parc Health Systems. The Daviess County native was born April 27, 1926, to the late Joseph G. Craig and Lona Sapp Craig.

Felix co-owned Craig’s Auto Parts store as well as worked on the family farm in Maceo. He was a deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church before becoming a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church.

He loved tinkering and never threw anything away. Felix enjoyed camping and bowling and participated in many leagues over the years. He was always active and continued mowing and trimming into his nineties.

Felix was a WW II Navy veteran and an avid UK basketball fan.

In addition to his parents, Felix was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Mae Craig in 2003; daughter, Anna Marie Stinnett in 2005; son-in-law, Jimmy Stinnett in 2018; all his siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Patsy Conley of Lewisport; three grandchildren, Jerry Daugherty (Courtney), Shelley Doolin (Colby), and Jamie Johnson (Chris); six great grandchildren, Joshua and Ethan Daugherty, Baylee and Zoey Doolin, and Jesse and Brody Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service with military honors will be at 4:00 pm Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ken Spurrier officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
