Jeffreys Cliffs tour; ATV vehicle transportation

Morgan’s Cave – On Friday the 7th and 8th grade’s from Perry Central school hiked the Jeffrey’s Cliffs. There were over 170 students and adults. The weather was perfect and they finished the day with lunch at the Domtar picnic shelter. Here they are in Morgan’s Cave.

If you or someone you know has wanted to visit the Jeffreys Cliffs but were hesitant to attempt the several mile hike back the main trail to Morgans Cave area, the Hancock County Fiscal Court and Heritage Commission are having a special day.Thursday, October 26, 2023. Between 9AM and 3PM.

The area will be open to everyone on that day and there will be volunteers to provide ATV vehicle transportation to anyone who needs a ride back the main trail to see fall colors, the cliffs and the large Morgans Cave rock shelter. The only requirement is that you be able to ride in an ATV (with shoulder and seatbelt on.) Help will be there to assist you. Benches are limited so you may want to bring a lawn chair.

Directions from Hawesville: US 60 East, 4 miles to Hwy 1406. North on 1506 (toward the Domtar mill).
