Healthy Habits; Earthing
When we were children, we just called it running around outside barefoot. Today, it is being called “earthing” or “biological grounding,” and an extensive amount of research has revealed its numerous health benefits, including pain relief, reducing inflammation and improving circulation.
Many of these studies are published, peer-reviewed and available for the public to read. Studies show that even just standing or sitting barefoot in your yard for 20-30 minutes daily improves your overall health.
The transfer of electrons from the earth to your body is proven to produce what’s called a reduction reaction, which reduces oxidative stress. The reduction reaction that happens when you place your body in direct contact with the earth, essentially takes free radicals within your body and adds an electron to that molecule, which stabilizes it so that it can no longer cause damage to those cells.
Earthing also reduces your body’s “voltage.”
We live in a very electrical environment, and with the additional Electromagnetic Frequencies (EMFs) from internet & cell phones, our voltage is increased. Direct contact with the earth balances that out and returns us to homeostasis.
There are studies that show a dramatic decrease in health in humans, since the advent of rubber-sole shoes. The build-up of positive ions in the body causes health problems. The free and easy solution is slipping off your shoes and getting grounded by standing bare foot on the earth. There are also earthing shoes you can purchase for staying connected with the earth while walking & running.
Current studies are being done, where doctors are monitoring their patients in real time and can see first-hand how earthing is causing their inflammation to go down, is improving their circulation, and is lowering their blood pressure, to mention just a few. https://www.feathersinthewoods.com/2020/07/what-is-earthing-grounding.html
There are many different ways to receive the benefit of grounding/earthing. You can simply stand or sit with your bare feet on the earth. You can walk barefoot in areas that you know are safe to do that, of course. And, you can lay down in a nice spot and just place your hands and bare feet on the earth. You can lay out a blanket, and place your hands and/or bare feet on the ground around you, while relaxing on your blanket.
Here are some of the possible health perks of getting your bare feet on the earth once a day for just a few minutes:
- lowers blood pressure
- improves circulation
- eases stress
- diminishes anxiety & tension
- anti-inflammatory
- speeds up healing
- improves digestion
- reduces cortisol levels
- helps with managing chronic pain
- improves bone health
- helps alleviate menopause symptoms
- balances hormones
- enhances bioelectrical processes throughout the body
- balances metabolism
- improves sleep

- boosts the immune system
Be Well and God Bless You.
