McKinney indicted for murder

The Hancock County grand jury met in session and returned indictments. The most serious concerned a murder charge against Lewisport resident Dianna Boyd McKinney. According to the grand jury, in April of this year McKinney shot and killed Roger Benningfield Jr. with a 9mm pistol.

She also stands accused of tampering with physical evidence to prevent it from being used in the case against her. The court set a $250,000 bail for McKinney, and scheduled her arraignment for July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

Roberts indicted on burglary and theft charges

Lewisport resident Carie Roberts faces a variety of theft related charges in connection with a case dated to May of this year. Roberts stands accused of criminal mischief in the first degree, burglary in the third degree, theft by unlawful taking from building, more than $1,000 but less than $10,000 and theft by unla

wful taking from building.

According to the formal accusation Roberts stands accused of criminal mischief in the first degree and burglary in the third degree when she, either alone or in complicity with Trenton Scott Thorpe, broke into Thompson Tire in Lewisport, which caused damage to the building. She also faces charges of theft by unlawful taking from a building $1,000 or more and theft by unlawful taking from a building as she stands accused of taking items from Thompson Tire.

The court set her bail at $25,000; the court set her arraignment date for July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

Mallory indicted for burglary

Rockport, Ind. resident Brittany Nicole Mallory stands accused of two theft related charges by the Hancock County grand jury. She stands accused of burglary in the third degree and possession of burglary tools.

According to the grand jury, in May of this year Mallory, either alone or with an accomplice, committed the offense of burglary in the third degree by breaking into C&C Laundromat in Hawesville. In addition, she stands accused of possession of burglary tools by possessing tools used to commit theft.

The court set her bail at $25,000; the court scheduled her arraignment for July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

McIntosh accused of assault and burglary

Lewisport resident Jiera P. McIntosh stands accused of a variety of assault and burglary charges by the Hancock County grand jury. Her charges date to April of this year when she stands accused of assault in the third degree for actions committed against Officer Nicholas Jarboe, and for burglary in the second degree for illegally entering apartment 204 at 267 Nancy Avenue in Lewisport. She also stands accused of assault in the fourth degree when she caused injury to Chad Edwards and resisting arrest for using physical force against officer Nick Jarboe to prevent her arrest.

The court set her arraignment for July 28, 2023, at 10 am; the court set her bail at $50,000.

Thrasher indicted for burglary, drug charges

Hawesville resident Bobby Jo Thrasher faces a variety of charges stemming from a break-in at C&C Laundromat in Hawesville in May of this year. Thrasher stands accused of burglary in the third degree, possession of burglary tools, trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession.

The grand jury said Thrasher, either alone or with an accomplice, committed the offense of burglary in the third degree by breaking into C&C Laundromat in Hawesville. In addition, he stands accused of possession of burglary tools by possessing tools used to commit theft.

The grand jury also accused Thrasher of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree for being in possession of two or more grams of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia for being in possession of items used to either distribute or ingest a controlled substance.

The court set his bail at $25,000; the court scheduled his arraignment for July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

Thorpe indicted for Thompson Tire break-in

Hancock County resident Trenton Scott Thorpe faces a variety of theft related charges in connection with a case dated to May of this year. Thorpe stands accused of criminal mischief in the first degree, burglary in the third degree, theft by unlawful taking from building, more than $1,000 but less than $10,000 and theft by unlawful taking from building.

According to the grand jury Thorpe stands accused of criminal mischief in the first degree and burglary in the third degree when he, either alone or in complicity with Carie Roberts, broke into Thompson Tire in Lewisport, which caused damage to the building. He also faces charges of theft by unlawful taking from a building $1,000 or more and theft by unlawful taking from a building as he stands accused of taking items from Thompson Tire.

The court set his bail at $25,000; the court set his arraignment date for July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

Tuck indicted for theft, forgery

Evansville, Ind. resident William D. Tuck stands accused of forgery and theft charges by the Hancock County grand jury. Tuck stands accused of two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, two counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition all other more than $1,000 but less than $10,000 and two counts of theft of identity. The grand jury accused him of committing the offenses in March of this year.

Tuck stands accused of criminal possession of a forged instrument for writing two checks on the account of Daniel R. Osborne, one check for $1,943.72 and another for $2,534.72. He stands accused of theft by unlawful taking $1,000 or more for withdrawing the money from First Financial Bank in Hawesville. The grand jury also accused him of theft of identity by using or possessing Osborne’s identity to cash the checks.

The court set his arraignment date for July 28, 2023, at 10 am; the court also set his bail at $10,000.

Lyons indicted in two cases

The Hancock County grand jury indicted Lewisport resident Courtney P. Lyons on two drug-related cases. In the first case she stands accused of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree and drug paraphernalia-buy/possession. In the second case she stands accused of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree-firearm enhanced, two counts of wanton endangerment, drug paraphernalia-buy/possession firearm enhanced, trafficking in marijuana-firearm enhanced and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The first case dates to April of this year. The grand jury accused her of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree for knowingly being in possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia for being in possession of items used for the distribution or ingestion of controlled substances.

The court set Lyons’ arraignment date for July 28, 2023, at 10 am; the court also set her bail at $5,000.

The second case dates to March of this year.

The grand jury accused Lyons of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree-firearm enhanced by being in possession of a handgun and a quantity of methamphetamine. She stands accused of two counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree when she engaged in conduct which created substantial danger to her minor child. In addition, the grand jury accused her of possession of drug paraphernalia-firearm enhanced as she possessed, according to the indictment, a firearm while she also possessed items for the distribution or ingestion of controlled substances, and trafficking in marijuana-firearm enhanced as she possessed a firearm as she also possessed a quantity of marijuana with the intent to sell.

Finally, the grand jury accused Lyons of two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor when she allowed her child to be in a position of becoming neglected, dependent, or delinquent.

The court set her bail at $25,000; the court scheduled her arraignment on July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

Durbin indicted for trafficking, theft, and drugs

The Hancock County grand jury indicted Lewisport resident Daniel W. Durbin on nine counts ranging from trafficking in drugs to theft of identity. The grand jury accused Durbin of trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree-firearm enhanced when he possessed a quantity of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm.

The grand jury also accused him of two counts of wanton endangerment when he engaged in conduct that created danger to a minor child. In addition, the grand jury accused him of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon for his possession of a .25 caliber pistol, and possession of drug paraphernalia firearm enhanced for his possession of said firearm while he also possessed items used in the distribution or ingestion of controlled substances.

The grand jury also accused him of giving false identifying information to an officer when he gave an officer a wrong name to mislead the officer as to his identity and stands accused of theft of identity when he used the identity of another person to identify himself to law enforcement.

The grand jury also accused him of trafficking in marijuana-firearm enhanced while he possessed both a handgun and an amount of marijuana with the intent to sell or transfer the drug to another person. He stands accused of committing the offenses in March of this year.

The court set his bail at $25,000; the court scheduled his arraignment for July 28, 2023, at 10 am.

Sandage accused of theft, bail jumping

The Hancock County grand jury indicted Bailey Elizabeth Sandage, with addresses in both Cannelton, Ind. and Maceo, KY, on three counts. She stands accused of theft by unlawful taking auto-$10,000 or more for taking a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup that belonged to Johnathan M. Adkins. The grand jury also accused her of criminal mischief in the first degree for causing over $1,000 in damages to this vehicle. Finally, she stands accused of bail jumping in the first degree when she did not appear for a preliminary hearing for a different felony case in Hancock County.

The court set her arraignment date for July 28, 2023, at 10 am; the court also set her bail at $25,000.

    So how may year’s did Diana Boyd McKinney got for her the murder charge ! And what other charges is she facing as well ?
