Motorcycle/Car Sideswipe Accident

On 4-17 at 6:10 p.m., Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Hendrick arrived on the scene of an accident on Fred Morris Rd, at the intersection with Hawesville Easton Rd, 12 miles south of Hawesville. He reported that Jeffrey A. Hattfield of Hawesville, was operating a 2000 red Honda CBR900 motorcycle and traveling east, when he ran into the side of Logan O. Millay, of Reynolds Station, who was driving west in his 2020 Ford F 150 Series pickup truck, sideswiping him. The two continued through into a field ditch. Hattfield was operating with no valid insurance and no registration on his motorcycle. Charges will be filed through court. Millay’s truck received moderate/severe damage and Hattfield’s motorcycle had moderate damage. Neither required a tow. No injuries were reported. The roadway was re-opened at 6:24 p.m.

Asleep at the Wheel-Overturned Vehicle

On 4-28 at 6:54 a.m., Hancock County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an overturned vehicle on KY 69, 12 miles south of Hawesville. Deputy Aaron Emmick arrived on the scene at 6:58 a.m. and reported that Caige S. Clark (19), of Hartford, was traveling north at approximately 50-60 mph in a 2008 light blue Chevrolet Silverado, and stated that he fell asleep while driving, exited the right side of KY 69 and overturned. The truck had moderate damage and was towed by Bob’s Garage. The driver was picked up by his parents. No injuries were reported.
