Eucalyptus essential oil
Healthy Habits – Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus essential oil offers relief from sinus challenges and is especially helpful during allergy season. It is also a potent antibacterial and antiviral agent. There are various eucalyptus supplements to choose from, and they offer a range of health perks, including anticancer effects.
Here are just some of the many possible health benefits of eucalyptus: relieves pain, promotes healthy brain function, anti-inflammatory, helps regulate blood sugar, reduces fever, lowers blood pressure, promotes blood circulation, repels insects (natural insecticide), antiseptic, antimicrobial, supports healthy digestion, increases metabolism and eases respiratory conditions. www.
I recommend 100% pure, therapeutic grade, organic eucalyptus essential oil for use in the bath and in diffusers, as well as added to a carrier oil for topical use, such as for sore muscles.
Because eucalyptus is a potent antibacterial/antiviral, it can be used as a natural hand sanitizer. Also, you can make your own antibacterial hand-wash by adding the essential oil drops, along with tea tree oil and peppermint oil, to diluted Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap.
You can simply remove the cap of the essential oil and breathe-in through your nose directly over the bottle for an aroma therapy, quick-relief for sinus and breathing difficulties. You can add the essential oil drops or eucalyptus leaves to the shower as well. The steam will deliver much relief of blocked sinuses as you breathe deeply.
When you have time for a hot bath, add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil. Soaking in this bath, along with ½ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of sea salt, will help with detoxing heavy metals and other environmental toxins, as well as the aforementioned health benefits.
If the scent is off-putting to you, but you’d still like to try it, I recommend HerbEra Brand tincture or capsules. Always do your research and/or check with your health care professional first!
Be Well and God Bless You.
