Hancock County High School Technical Education (CTE) Teacher, Josh Smith, is engaging his Agricultural Communications Class in a project that puts them in direct communication with different business owners and farmers throughout the county. His plan is to have the students interview two per month. The interviews will be published in the Hancock Clarion and on other media platforms.
Smith and his students chose The Hancock Clarion’s Publisher, Donn Wimmer, as their first interview. The next step, Smith said, is having the students interview farmers in the community.
“This is just one particular target of the class – working with a newspaper, media, social media, etc.,” Smith said. “We can take what we learn in the class and apply it hands-on by having a feature article in a newspaper or social media.”
