Walter B. Lambert

Walter B. Lambert, 88, of Tell City, passed away on June 7, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway.

Walter was born in Tell City on March 13, 1934, to the late Walter and Mary (Spencer)

Lambert. He was united in marriage on September 11, 1954, to Mary Ann Smith. He was

music teacher and band director, teaching music at Cannelton High School for 5 years. He

started an Instrumental Program in Vevay, Indiana and ran it for 10 years. He also became

the owner of Dairy Queen in 1973 and happily managed it for 22 years. He was a member

of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose. He enjoyed art, glass work and music.

Walter is survived by his sister, Mary Jane Jarboe of Tell City, brother, John (Pat) Lambert

of Rocky Point, his children, Scott (Diane) Lambert of Lewisport, Amanda (Grant) Lamar

of Henderson, Kathy (John) Pyle of Tell City, grandchildren, Christina and Jared Lambert,

Elizabeth Anderson, Amy and Taylor Cox, Rachel Lamar, Zachary and Katie Kalin.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by wife of 68 years Mary Ann and

his daughter, Ann Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, June 23, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic

Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 9:00am to 12:30pm at Zoercher-Gillick

Funeral Home in Tell City.

Additional visitation and luncheon will be held from 12:45pm to 2:00pm at the Parish

Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or St. Paul Catholic Church.
