Hancock Fiscal Court approves budget amendment

A light agenda greeted members of the Hancock County Fiscal Court at its June 28 meeting. It took place at 6 p.m. in the fiscal court meeting room in the county administration building.

The board approved budget amendment #3, which is the ARPA funds from the Federal Government. The county received $847,073. The county had to amend its budget to reflect receiving this money in the 20-21 fiscal year budget, which ends June 30 of this year.

Treasurer’s Report
Hancock County Judge/Executive Chic Roberts read the treasurer’s report. The starting balance, before paying the county’s bills, was $6,905,560.67. Roberts said this amount was higher than this time last year. At this time in 2020 the county had $5,547,182 in the bank.
