Lewisport celebrates Library grand opening

The Lewisport Branch of the Hancock County Public Library celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting this past Saturday, June 26th.  Cutting the ribbon are library director, Tina Snyder and branch manager, Kelley Richardson.  Other dignitaries include: Mayor Chad Gregory, Judege/Executive Chic Roberts, and library board members, Mary Beth Morris, Glenda Johnson, Belinda Moffitt, Michael Swihart and Katrina Emmick and library staff attended the event.

The new Lewisport branch offers a genealogy room and two study rooms.

“The teens have their own room and the children have their own room; so instead of an open concept, they have their own spaces, along with their own computers as well.

The new library is located at 400 Second Street, on the site of the old Lewisport Elementary School building, and directly across the street from the old library location.
