The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner takes place June 7, 2021 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. Appetizers start at 6 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Bill and Dave’s will cater the event. The workers will pre-plate the food and hand it out to the diners. The meal consists of chicken or pork chops with all the fixings, said Chamber Director Pam Bolen-Lee.
Tickets for the dinner cost $10. Tickets are available at all the local banks and credit unions.
The chamber plans to honor Julie Newton as the 2021 Citizen of The Year.
Newton works with Audubon Area Community Services, and also with the Hancock County Help Office.
“She has been amazing through the COVID pandemic,” Bolen-Lee said. “She goes above and beyond helping people. She does so much for the county.”
In addition to honoring Newton as the Citizen of The Year, the chamber also plans to nominate and install two vacant board positions at the dinner. Bolen-Lee encourages all chamber members to attend and to participate in the election.
Also, the chamber plans to honor the students awarded scholarships from the body. Bolen-Lee said three students received the chamber of commerce scholarships.
