The HCHS tennis teams competed in the 3rd Region tournament at the Owensboro Tennis Complex this week.
Hancock County’s top seeded girl, Anna Durbin (#4 seed), received a first round bye before winning 6-1, 6-0 in the second round. Durbin, a senior, later fell 6-1, 4-6, 0-1 to Izzie Weedman of Grayson County in the quarterfinals.
Will Beckwith received a first round bye then fell 0-6, 0-6 to the #1 seed Dylan Mathers of Owensboro High School.
Allea Flake and Morgan Proctor competed in doubles. The duo got a first round bye then won by default in round two. The girls lost 0-6, 0-6 in the quarterfinals to the top seeded team, Moore–Young, from Owensboro Catholic.
