Commonwealth Vaccination incentives
To help encourage its employees to get their COVID-19 vaccinations, Commonwealth Rolled Products in Lewisport created a vaccination incentive program, with a potential grand prize of $20,000 or a choice between a Kubota RTV-1100C and a John Deere XUV835M UTV, according to a company press release.
The company launched the campaign in March. When the program started, the company gave each employee a $100 one-time bonus if the employee received the vaccination. The employee needed to give a copy of his or her vaccination card to Human Resources at the plant to receive the bonus. This incentive remains in effect.
At this time approximately 15-percent of the plant’s employees received their vaccinations. To encourage even more employees to receive their shots, the company announced even more incentives.
The company said once 30-percent of the plant’s employees receive their vaccination, these employees become eligible to win a $5,000 cash prize. When the rate of vaccination reaches 50-percent, these employees become eligible for a cash prize of $10,000, and the company plans to lift the mask mandate at the plant, subject to government policy. Employees must maintain proper social distancing if the mask mandate is lifted.
The grand prize of $20,000 or the UTVs comes into effect if 70-percent of the plant’s employees are fully vaccinated by July 4, 2021. Only one $5,000, $10,000 and $20,000 cash prize will be awarded.
“We believe the vaccine offers the best way to keep our employees safe and contribute to the wellness of our local communities,” the company press release said. “We encourage everyone to do their part by being fully vaccinated.”
