Laura Louise Powers, 73, of Cloverport, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. Her family takes comfort knowing she has joined her son John in Heaven.
Louise was born in Cloverport, KY on February 15, 1947 to the late Arthur and Laura Emery Blair. She loved drawing, reading, working puzzles, woodworking, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed flower gardening and was a #1 fan of Alan Jackson. She was an avid collector of Alan Jackson memorabilia and owned every album he made.
In addition to her parents and son, Johnathan Powers, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas and Roger Blair, and sisters, Zelma Thompson and Mary Blair.
Those left behind to mourn her passing, but to celebrate the rich life she lived, are the love of her life and husband Charles Powers of Cloverport, Ky; son, Tony (Kelly) Powers of Hawesville, KY; grandchildren, Sharon, McKayla, and Chase Powers; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Embry and Kassidy Corley; and sisters, Myra (Cliff) Ernst of Floyds Knobs, IN, Gloria Bergner and Janet Blair both of Dacula, GA.
A private celebration of Louise’s life will be held at 1:00 pm., Monday, August 31 at Cloverport Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ray Estes officiating. Burial will follow at the Cloverport Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be required.
