Donald Lee Bryant

Donald Lee Bryant, 86, of Hawesville, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at his home under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.  He was born in Assumption, IL on May 8, 1933 to the late George Hewitt and Amanda Cole Bryant.  Donald was a member of Hawesville United Methodist Church and was a longtime deacon at Lovington Christian Church in Lovington, IL.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Korean War.  Donald was a lifetime member of the AmVets, a Master Mason, member of United Rubber Workers Union, a Kentucky Colonel and a St. Louis Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats fan.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leo Ed Bryant, George Hewitt Bryant, Jr., Carl Bryant, Hilda Loetta and Oma Jewell.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marian Davis Bryant; children, Bill (Connie) Porter, Cynthia (Ron) Denton, Penny (Bob) Hood, Kevin (Karen) Bryant and Donita Bryant; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his 4 legged companion, Loucee Lynn Bryant along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    My mother, husband and I were so sad to hear about the loss of this kind, loving, humble man. Hard to imagine that we’ll never see him in Nashville again, strolling Loucee around…Our hearts go out to the family. Sending love and hugs your way, Donita and Marian.
