Former Hancock County boy uses business success to donate $1.3 million

By Dave Taylor

The family of a former Hancock County boy who used his business success to donate $1.3 million to Brescia University came to the county last month to visit where he grew up on the same weekend that the college named its science building after the man and his wife.

The late Roy Roberts and his wife Victoria Duffy Roberts donated the money to their alma mater in 2017 to support the school’s ongoing capital campaign, and on October 25, 2019 the school officially renamed its science building The Roy and Victoria Duffy Roberts Center for the Sciences.
