Snow days couldn’t stop school meal deliveries

While students in the county were celebrating three straight snow days last week, the district’s weekend backpack program continued uninterrupted, ensuring that children wouldn’t go hungry during the break.

The program, which provides backpacks full of food for students in households who might not get sufficient nutrition outside of school settings, is a matter of necessity for some children but a matter of compassion for the Family Resource and Youth Service Center directors who wouldn’t let weather get in their way.
