HCHS starting military-style class next year

By Dave Taylor

Camouflage might not be uncommon at Hancock County High School, but next year it could be compulsory, when a new military-style class kicks off for freshmen and sophomores, offering an alternative to ROTC programs that often aren’t available at small schools.

Starting in August, students will be able to use an elective to participate in Cadet Core, a new curriculum founded in Kentucky by Justin Owens, a military veteran, which will teach both military and leadership skills.
