On April 5, Steve Bridgmon will find himself in the Grand Ole Opry in a fancy suit, waiting to hear whether his name will be called as the Inspirational Country Music Association Newcomer of the Year, or perhaps as the winner of Song of the Year. Some will remark that he’s really made it, but Bridgmon is no stranger to the limelight.
“There was a time when I was young… I was in the Clarion every week because I was a BMXer,” Bridgmon said Tuesday. “My dad (Steve) was the director of the Vastwood BMX park.”
