United Way facing shortfall after dwindling corporate donations

Despite a mostly positive outlook for the county’s industries, their charitable contributions to United Way have mostly dried up, leaving the organization struggling for ways to support programs for Hancock County’s seniors and the needy.
Local industries have traditionally supported United Way with donations, but for various reasons those funds are not coming in to the charity like they once did, according to David Ross, president of United Way of the Ohio Valley.
